Emma Sopyllo

Emma heads Dottir’s Intellectual Property practice. She is an experienced intellectual property and technology lawyer with a particular focus on complex IP, technology and commercial matters.

She has extensive experience advising on intellectual property strategy, licensing and other commercial arrangements, as well as complex disputes and litigation. Her experience includes multi-jurisdictional patent litigation, standard-essential patent and FRAND matters, and the negotiation of IP-intensive commercial agreements.

Emma has extensive experience from both private practice and in-house roles in Finland and the United States. Her experience on both sides of the table gives her a practical understanding of the commercial and strategic considerations underlying IP- and technology-intensive businesses and enables her to advise clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters.

Emma holds law degrees from the University of Helsinki and the University of Chicago Law School and is qualified to practice law in Finland and New York.
